Will Alfa Romeo launch a luxury electric minivan in the future? This is the question being raised by the website Autocar, which has also published a render speculating on what the appearance of this hypothetical model might be. According to some, Alfa Romeo might decide to introduce it to the market in the coming years. The origins of this speculation can be traced back to statements made by the head of design for the brand, Alejandro Mesonero-Romanos. In response to a question about the possible return of a model like the famous ‘Autotutto,’ he humorously suggested that its return should not come as too much of a surprise.

Will Alfa Romeo launch an electric minivan in its renewed lineup in the future?

Alfa Romeo does not seem to have a confirmed minivan among its upcoming releases. There are other new models in the pipeline. In 2024, a new compact SUV in the B segment is set to debut, which will be produced in Tychy, Poland, alongside the Jeep Avenger and Fiat 600. The first images of this SUV have already appeared on the web. In 2025, the second generation of the Giulia sedan is expected, while the new Stelvio should make its debut in 2026. Between 2027 and 2028, the Alfa Romeo lineup will be enriched with two new vehicles in the E segment: a large SUV and a coupe sedan.

Therefore, at the moment, there seems to be no space for a minivan. However, it’s worth noting that this type of vehicle has regained popularity, especially in China. It’s not a coincidence that major automakers like Volkswagen, Volvo, Lexus, Hyundai, and Mercedes have decided to introduce vehicles of this kind to the market in the coming years. The idea of Alfa Romeo considering this model in the future should not be dismissed outright, even though it may seem a bit challenging at the moment.

Moreover, Jean Philippe Imparato, Alfa Romeo’s CEO, was the first to suggest that in the coming years, thanks to new electric platforms, Alfa Romeo might diversify its body styles and not be limited to offering only crossovers and SUVs. We will see if further hints emerge in the coming months that suggest a shift like this for Alfa Romeo.
