Ferrari Daytona SP3 by Amalgam Collection, a single scale replica

Amalgam Collection, a British atelier highly specialized in creating the highest quality scale models has created a masterpiece, namely the 1:8 scale replica of the Ferrari Daytona SP3. This work comes from the commission of a client who wanted to immortalize his supercar in a miniature work of art.

Daytona SP3 in small size

A small-scale work, imitating it almost maniacally, albeit in a reduced size. As anticipated, those in charge of performing this painstaking work were the professionals of the English atelier who managed to recreate the car at a price commensurate with the uniqueness and quality cut of the product.

Like the real thing, it offers a body dressed in vibrant Giallo Triplo Strato with racing stripes in Argento Nurburgring. The match continues inside, with a cabin finished in Black Alcantara, a backdrop for leather accents and yellow stitching. As the men at Amalgam Collection report, no effort was spared to capture the intricate details of the bespoke supercar that served as the work’s muse. Needless to say, how in the photos, in the absence of dimensional references, one seems to be in the presence of the real car. This speaks volumes about the finesse of the realization. I imagine that now the 1:8 scale model we are dealing with has a prominent place in the customer’s garage, perhaps next to the real Ferrari Daytona SP3.

The hand assembly of the scaled-down reproduction was taken care of by a small team of craftsmen, using the highest quality materials. The mix between the expertise of the workers and the quality level of the ingredients used to shape the work produced a precious item that best expresses the excellence of Amalgam Collection. Each part is built with maniacal precision, taking advantage of the original drawings, material specifications and paint codes provided by the Maranello house.

Result of the amazing work

The result is a small-big masterpiece, just over 58 centimeters long, that packs so much magic into this dimensional base. Dutiful to reach the diapason of quality in cases where one relates to an absolute masterpiece like the Ferrari Daytona SP3. This is the most charismatic work shaped by Flavio Manzoni, head of the in-house style center of the Maranello-based company. Born in the wake of the Icon Series, as the third interpretation of the species, after the Monza SP1 and SP2, the hyper car under consideration is clearly inspired by the 330 P4, to which it pays worthy homage, recalling the physiognomy, but without indulging in the remake formula. Here, in fact, the expressive canvas is different and oriented toward the future.

Dictating the aesthetic alchemy of the tail mirror was the styling of the 250 P5 Berlinetta Speciale Pininfarina, with its conspicuous horizontal slats, from the light clusters down. The initial part of the initials is a tribute to the incredible hat trick collected by the “rosse” at the 1967 24 Hours of Daytona.

In the scale example we are dealing with, the engine is also well reproduced, which in the real Ferrari Daytona SP3 is a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12, capable of developing a maximum output of 840 horsepower, soundly bestowed to the pleasure of the senses. It is a work of engineering art, rising to the rank of the best tribute to the endothermic school, the only one capable of tapping the emotional chords of true enthusiasts, not tempted at all by the torment of the electric, which an ideologized political class is trying to impose on the Old Continent. Looking at the heart of Amalgam Collection’s model, it almost looks as if it could be started, such is the finesse of reproduction even in this area.
