Fiat Multipla 6×6 is on its way, but it’s not a massive SUV. Stellantis Heritage has announced that they are working on a one-of-one Multipla, which will be designed by Roberto Giolito, the creator of the 1998 model and the head of the Group’s division dedicated to historic vehicles.

In the first decade of the 2000s, the streets were filled with the Fiat Multipla, both private vehicles and taxis. In recent years, it has become increasingly difficult to spot one due to stricter emissions regulations and the high mileage of the models in circulation.

However, a new specimen will soon grace museums and roads. According to Stellantis‘ division dedicated to historic cars, the Italian automaker is working on creating the Fiat Multipla 6×6. Contrary to what the name might suggest, it won’t be an off-road version with six-wheel drive but something truly unique.

The 6×6 concept was the basis of the original 1998 Multipla and was used by Giolito to create a series of fictional comic characters to explain the concept of the new car and its various personalities to the public. This new model is currently in the making and based on the 1998 model, and painted in a distinctive turquoise color, chosen to evoke open spaces and the sea. To add a touch of elegance, the trim, wheels, and bumpers are finished in grey-white, a neutral color that contrasts with the dark body.

Inside, the iconic dark blue fabric couldn’t be missing, paired with classic gray-white door panels. A special feature is the seats, which, according to the company, feature characters designed by the same designer in 1998. Stellantis Heritage has announced that the Multipla 6×6 will be unveiled at the Milan Autoclassica vintage car show from November 17 to 19. Subsequently, it will be sold to an enthusiast of Italian design.
