Maserati North America has issued a recall involving 1,710 vehicles of the 2023-2024 Grecale and 2024 GranTurismo models. The main issue has been identified in the Central Vision Park Assist Module (CVPAM) software, which can cause the rear camera to malfunction during reverse maneuvers, creating potential safety risks.

The recall specifically affects 1,602 units of the Maserati Grecale manufactured between May 5, 2022, and December 1, 2023, and 108 units of the 2024 Maserati GranTurismo built between October 20, 2022, and November 28, 2023. It’s important to note that vehicles produced outside these periods have already been updated with the correct software or received CVPAM replacement directly at the factory.

Initially, in July 2023, Stellantis had identified a potential issue in the CVPAM software, but no actual failures had been found in the vehicles. Despite reassurances received from the supplier, Maserati continued to closely monitor the situation. In November 2023, the VRC Committee had initially decided not to proceed with an immediate recall.

The turning point came in September 2024, when 10 warranty claims were recorded. This situation prompted Maserati to reopen the investigation, which led to the decision to initiate a voluntary safety recall on November 19, 2024. This decision was made to ensure both regulatory compliance and maximum customer safety.

Owners of affected vehicles have the option to directly contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle safety hotline to receive detailed assistance and information about the recall.
