The new generation of Alfa Romeo Giulia will arrive on the market in 2026, one year after the Stelvio. While these two cars are already confirmed, plans from 2027 onward could be disrupted due to Carlos Tavares’ early resignation as Stellantis CEO. With the first information about the electric sedan emerging, digital creators are trying to imagine how the final version will appear.
Alfa Romeo Giulia 2026: the new generation will be completely transformed
According to the latest rumors, the new Alfa Romeo Giulia will be radically transformed and renewed after being on the market for 10 years since its 2016 launch. Alfa Romeo intends to move from the current three-box design to a “two-and-a-half” box design with a truncated tail. The style of the new generation should be similar to that of the Lotus Emeya, unveiled last year. In particular, the rear of the new Alfa Romeo Giulia will feature an LED light design that will also be used on the new Stelvio, debuting in 2025. This will take the form of Alfa Romeo’s famous triangle.
Regarding dimensions, the new Alfa Romeo Giulia will be approximately 4.7 meters long and 1.9 meters wide, slightly larger than the current model. It will be based on the STLA Large platform, the same used for the new Stelvio, capable of accommodating both electric and hybrid powertrains. And it’s precisely here where there still seem to be some doubts. Initially planned only for electric versions, including the Quadrifoglio with more than 1,000 HP, the negative trend in zero-emission vehicle sales is causing the Biscione to reconsider, now led by new CEO Santo Ficili.
The electric versions are expected to be joined by a range extender version and at least one plug-in hybrid. While there’s no official confirmation from the brand yet, judging by the Alfa Romeo Junior‘s sales, with 75% of requests being for the hybrid version, the brand cannot focus solely on electric if it wants to survive.
