Peugeot is renovating its Landtrek pickup truck to strengthen its international presence, particularly in Africa, the Middle East, and South America. The model, which debuted in 2020, belongs to the one-ton pickup segment and is currently available in about 40 countries.
Peugeot Landtrek: features of the new model revealed
The new Peugeot Landtrek is available in three configurations: single cab, double cab, or chassis. The double cab version measures 5.33 meters in length, while the single cab reaches 5.39 meters, with both having a width of 1.92 meters. The most significant innovation is the new 2.2-liter Multijet diesel engine that delivers 147 kW (200 HP) with 450 Nm of torque. This can be paired with either an eight-speed EAT8 automatic transmission or a six-speed manual gearbox. Other engines are also available: a 1.9-liter diesel producing 110 kW (150 HP) and a 2.4-liter petrol engine delivering 154 kW (210 HP).
The interior has been completely modernized with a 10-inch central HD touchscreen compatible with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster. The cabin can accommodate up to six passengers depending on the version, with a width of 1.55 meters in the second row.
On the safety front, the model with the 2.2 diesel engine includes various advanced technologies such as automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with STOP&GO function, blind spot detection, and a 360° camera system for maneuvering. This version also features disc brakes at the rear instead of drums.
The 2.2 diesel engine version features permanent four-wheel drive with four driving modes: Normal, Sport, Snow, and Sand. The other versions maintain either 4X2 or switchable 4X4 with low-range gearing. Aesthetically, the vehicle features a new design with a redesigned vertical grille, the new Peugeot emblem in the center, and distinctive LED daytime running lights. The rear bumper has been renewed and includes a new 3D Peugeot lettering.
Modularity represents one of the new Landtrek’s strengths: in the double cab version, the rear seat can be split 60/40 or 100%, while at the front, a Multiflex 3 bench is available that can be configured to transport objects up to 75 kg. To meet different customer needs, 60 different accessories are available for vehicle customization.
