Production at the Stellantis plant in Melfi is halted once again
At Stellantis, the process of workforce reduction is ongoing, and employees are even encouraged to leave the company. This applies not only to the factories but also to the offices, where there is a kind of pressure to depart. Stellantis is achieving excellent financial results due to cost reduction, which has a positive impact on the results presented in financial reports. However, the situation is slightly worse with sales, which are steadily declining. As for the Melfi plant, its future has been outlined in recent days.
The Stellantis factory that currently produces the Jeep Renegade, Fiat 500X, and Jeep Compass will be responsible for the production of 5 new electric cars, all based on the STLA Medium platform, in the coming years. These include the new Lancia Gamma, the future flagship of the Stellantis premium brand, two DS Automobiles cars, the new Opel Manta, and the successor to the Jeep Compass.
As for the Fiat 500X, its production will cease definitively by the end of 2024. The same fate will befall the Jeep Renegade but in 2025. As for the current Jeep Compass, its production is confirmed for a few more years, along with that of its successor, which is expected to be fully electric.
